Ingredients:
- 1 sheet of puff pastry
- 3 ripe pears, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup almond meal
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons apricot jam
- 2 tablespoons sliced almonds
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 375F 190C
Place the puff pastry sheet onto a baking tray lined with parchment paper
In a bowl, mix almond meal, sugar, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon
Spread the almond mixture evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a border around the edges
Arrange the thinly sliced pears on top of the almond mixture
Fold the edges of the puff pastry over the pears, creating a rustic tart shape
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and the pears are tender
While the tart is baking, heat the apricot jam in a small saucepan until melted
Once the tart is done, brush the melted apricot jam over the pears for a glossy finish
Sprinkle sliced almonds over the tart
Allow the tart to cool slightly before serving
